Sanibel Private and Commercial Property
Owners Can Apply for Hurricane Ian Debris
Cleanup Program Through the Florida Division of Emergency Management
  
Sanibel property owners can apply for debris removal on their private and commercial property through the Hurricane Ian Debris Cleanup Program managed by the Florida Division of Emergency Management. NOTE – Commercial Property Owners should not be placing additional debris in the right-of-way. Commercial property owners should follow instructions in this news release or have their contractor remove debris from their commercial property.
This debris removal service includes displaced and abandoned vehicles, vessels, and other titled property from qualifying private and commercial properties, as well as waterways throughout Lee County. Submit an application if you (1) own a property in Lee County and would like to request the removal of the debris on that property or (2) if you lost a vehicle, vessel, or other titled property due to Hurricane Ian and would like to report the vehicle, vessel or other titled property missing.

Please note, completing an application does not guarantee eligibility for debris removal or the return of your displaced title property. 
Latest News on Subtropical Storm Nicole
The City of Sanibel is carefully monitoring Subtropical Storm Nicole. At this time, the National Hurricane Center projects the storm will make landfall on the east coast of Florida late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. The image showing the potential track for Subtropical Storm Nicole from the National Hurricane Center’s 4 pm update (11/7/22) is inserted below.
The City of Sanibel strongly advises residents and businesses to follow the progress of Subtropical Storm Nicole, and to follow all advisories issued by state and local authorities.
Immediately following tomorrow’s (11/8/22) Lee County Board of County Commissioners meeting, Lee County officials will hold a press conference via Facebook Live concerning Subtropical Storm Nicole.
